Pressure Plate
Removal/lnspection
1 . Inspect the Jingers of the diaphragm spring for wear
at the release bearing contact area.
Check the diaphragm spring tingers tor height us-
ing the special tools and a feeler gauge.
Standard lNew): 0.6 mm (0.02 inl max.
Service Limit:
1.0 mm (O.O4 in)

lf the height exceeds the service limit, replace the
pressure plale.
3. Install the special tools.

4. To prevent warping, unscrew the pressure plate
mounting bolts in a crisscross pattern in several
steps, then remove the pressure plate.

Inspect the pressure plate surlace for weaf, cracks,
and burning.
Inspect for warpage using a straight edge and feel-
er gauge.
NOTE: Measure across the pressure plate at three
points.
Standard (New): O.O3 mm (0.0O1 inl max.
S€rvico Limit:
O.15 mm (0.0O6 inl
lf the warpage exceedsthe service limit, replace the
pfessure plate.
