Open the throttle valve fully. then install the throttle
c a b l e i n t h e t h r o t t l e l i n k a g e , a n d i n s t a l l t h e c a b l e
housing in the cable bracket.
D16Y5, D16Y8 engine:
CABLE
LOCKNUT
ADJUSTING
NUT
Start the engine. Hold the engine at 3,000 rpm with
no load (A,/T in E or E position, M/T in neutral) until
the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.
Hold the cable sheath, removing all slack from the
c a o r e .

S e t t h e l o c k n u t o n t h e c a b l e b r a c k e t . A d j u s t t h e
adjusting nut so that its free play is 0 mm.
5.
Remove the cable sheath from the throttle bracket,
reset the adjusting nut and tighten the locknut.
