Inspect the gear surfaces and bearing surfaces for
wear and damage, then measure the countershaft
at points A. B. and C.
Standard:
A: 30.000 - 30.015 mm

Check oil passages
for clogging.
. lf anv oart of the countershsft is less than the
service limit, replace it with a new one.
2. lnspect for runout.
Standard:
0.02 mm {0.001 in) max.
Sorvice Limh: 0.05 mm 10.002 in,
. lf the runout is more than the service limit. replace
the countershaft with a new one.
Reassembly
CAUTION:
. Prcss thc 3rd. 4th, and 5th gelrs on thc cour*crshaft
whhoul lubrication.
. When installing the 3rd, 4th, and sth gea.5, support
the shaft on 3te6l blocks and install the gas.r uring a
prass.
NOTE: Refer to page 13-20 for reassembly sequence.
1. Installthe needle bearing on the countershaft.

Assemble the Darts below as shown.
NOTE: Check that the fingers of the friction damper
are securely set in the grooves of the 1sv2nd syn-
chro hub.
