Removal
NOTE: Place the clutch housing on two pieces of wood
t h i c k e n o u g h t o k e e p t h e m a i n s h a f t f r o m h i t t i n g t h e
workbench.
1. Remove the back-up light switch.

Remove transmission hanger.

Remove the setting screws, washers, springs, and
steel balls.

Loosen the transmission housing attaching bolts in
a crisscross pattern in several steps. then remove
them.
Remove the 32 mm sealing bolt.
Expand the snap ring on the countershaft ball bear-
ing, and remove it from the groove using a pair of
snap ring pliers.

Separate the transmission housing from the clutch
housing, and wipe it clean ol the sealant.
Remove the thrust shim, oil guide plate, and oil gut-
ter plate {rom the transmission housing.
