Area of application

The Rosemount LinkPro is connected via an easy and reliable standard GSM (Global System for Mobile
Communications network) connection (using standard GSM frequencies). Regular SIM (Subscriber
Identity Module) cards supporting GPRS (General Packet Radio System) are used for the connection.
D.2.3

Technical concept

The purpose of Rosemount LinkPro is to enable communication with Emerson products via a GSM
network. It enables Emerson to provide excellent service to its customers, upgrade units at the click of a
button, and is a great advantage in situations where traditional wiring would require more work and a
higher cost.
Rosemount LinkPro is easy to install and offers great flexibility in adjustment, configuration, and remote
diagnosis. By connecting Rosemount LinkPro to a Rosemount 5708, the user can remotely receive data,
control the data, change the unit's parameters, and upgrade the Rosemount 5708 from firmware, at the
click of a button.
D.2.4

Operation

The Rosemount 5708 parameters can be adjusted using a Windows-based PC application (with the
appropriate version of the Rosemount 3DVision software installed).
For additional wiring instructions and how to connect the Rosemount 3DVision to the Rosemount 5708
using Rosemount LinkPro, refer to the Rosemount 5708 installation and Rosemount 3DVision operation
instruction manuals.
