GPRS
The GPRS option allows IP connection to a remote Rosemount LinkPro with GPRS enabled. When
selecting this option, a TCP port must be opened in the local network and to be forwarded to the
computer running the Rosemount 3DVision.
After selecting Connect, an SMS message should be sent manually to the Rosemount LinkPro in the
following format:

A comma must end the SMS message.
For example:
GPRS: The Rosemount 5708 is connected through the Internet over GPRS using Rosemount LinkPro.
1. Enter the local IP port number assigned to the computer.
2. Select Finish.
3. Before selecting the connect button, send an SMS message from a mobile phone to the Rosemount
5708 to initiate the connection.
Note
Prior to connecting via GPRS, the local IP port must be configured in the router, using the Port
Forwarding configuration. Contact your local IT administrator to do the router configuration.
