Configuration - Rosemount 5708 in a System
Mount the Rosemount System Controller cabinet indoors. Ensure it is accessible for power
supply, Internet connections and for maintenance.
Verify proper connection of the Rosemount System Controller to a proper power supply.
Connect the provided crossover Ethernet cable (Ethernet port #2) from the Rosemount System
Controller to a local laptop or other computer.
Set the IP Address on the laptop to static IP: 192.168.99.xx (where xx can be any number
between 001 to 255 except 099) and subnet mask 255.255.255.0. Do not forget to restore to
previous state once installation is complete.
Install UltraVNC version 1.0.8.2 on the laptop.
Using the UltraVNC Viewer, take control over the Rosemount System Controller using IP address
192.168.99.99 and password 'admin'. It is recommended to use UltraVNC version 1.0.8.2.
Make sure the Rosemount System Controller is installed with the latest SW version of
Rosemount 3DVision. If it is not, download the required latest versions from the website or
contact the local Emerson representative for further assistance.
Execute Rosemount 3DVision and connect to all devices using RS-485 (or TCP/IP, according to
the actual connection) in multiple mode.
If the converter's serial COM port used for the USB-to-RS-485 converter connection is not found
automatically, locate it manually using the computer Device Manager.
Verify latest firmware version and proper connection for all devices.
Configure the first device and save the configuration file.
Proceed with the configuration for the rest of the devices (or by uploading the first device
configuration and changing the name tag, device location, device horizontal angle, and setting
the full and empty calibration levels accordingly).
Specifically check the full and empty calibration levels.
Perform echo curve analysis for all devices and verify correct readings. Map false echoes, fine
tune and adjust as needed.
