Device output current

These settings allowing the user to control the various options of the 4-20mA connection. Setting the
output to represent volume of level, setting fault current and conditions and changing the HART
command #3 to different values.
Current Output Types
Standard 4-20mA (Volume) - the current will represent the volume of the material in the vessel based
on vessel configuration and settings.
Standard 4-20mA (Level) - the current will follow the level of material inside the vessel and be calculated
based on the full and empty calibration levels. It is also possible to select whether the current will be the
average level, minimal level or maximal level. Min and Max levels are available only if the model is
Rosemount 5708V or 5708S.
Inverted 20-4mA (Distance) - the current will follow the distance of material inside the vessel and be
calculated between the full and empty calibration level. It is also possible to select whether the current
will be the average distance, minimal distance or maximal distance. Min and Max distances are available
only if the model is Rosemount 5708V or 5708S.
From the Device menu, select Device Output Current or select the F8 key on your keyboard.
Note
Distance in multi-scanner system is calculated from the top of the silo.
Fault Current settings - selecting an output signal and the condition to activate it. The fault current can
be 3.6mA or 22mA, by default there is no fault current. Fault indication trigger can be by temperature or
volume measurement.
HART Command #3 - changing the 4 default variables to any combination of the available measurement
variables.
