Symptom
Injections sputter, drip, or are

Causes and Comments
Air bubbles are blocking the line. Make sure
the stainless steel tubes are completely inserted
to the bottom of the reagent container.
Reagent residue is clogging the tip. Soak the
injector tip in warm deionized water and wipe
it clean.
Injector tips are damaged or bent. See Section
20.G for instructions on replacing the injector
tips.
The inlet or outlet tubing is not properly
connected to the injector syringe. See Section
20.I for instructions on removing or replacing
the tubing assembly.
Reagent residue has built up inside the injector
tip holder. Clean the holder with 70% ethanol
and a damp cloth.
Air bubbles are blocking the line. Flush the
injectors to remove any air bubbles.
The end of the stainless steel tube is not in the
reagent.
• Make sure the stainless steel tube is
completely inserted to the bottom of the
reagent container.
• Reprime the injectors.
Reagent residue is clogging the tubing
• Replace tubing, if needed.
• Always flush the injector system after use to
prevent buildup of reagent residue.
Reagent residue is clogging the valves. Contact
Promega Technical Services.
Injector tips are bent. Clean up spill and replace
injector tips.
Microplate has overflowed inside instrument.
• Clean the optical head.
• Check that the total volume in each well is
suitable for the microplate used.
• Thoroughly clean the interior of the
instrument.
Reagent spilled inside the instrument. Wipe up
spills immediately using 70% ethanol and a
damp cloth.
