Front Panel Operation

5.1.1 LED Indicators

The function of the eight front panel LED indicators is as follows:

In general, the Alarm relay state will reflect the state of the
Front Panel LEDs. For instance, if the Unit Status LED is
red, the Unit Alarm relay will be active, etc. The one
exception is the Transmit Traffic relay. This will only be
IMPORTANT
activated if a Transmit Traffic Fault exists – it does not
reflect the state of the Tx carrier.
Condition Description
Green No Unit Faults, or Traffic (Tx or Rx) Faults
Amber A Unit, Tx, or Rx Alarm exits
Red A Unit, Tx or Rx Fault exists (Example: PSU fault)
Green Tx Traffic is passing normally
Off A Tx Traffic fault exists OR the Tx Carrier is in OFF state
Tx Traffic is passing normally (demod and decoder are locked, everything is
Green
OK)
An Rx Traffic fault exists (the demod may still be OK)
NOTE: By convention demodulator unlock is a fault – even though it is likely
Off
due to a missing carrier. In a redundancy system a missing carrier will not
result in switchover because a faulted unit will not switchover to another faulted
unit.
Green The Unit is online, and carrying traffic
The Unit is offline (standby) – forced by externally connected 1:1 or 1:N
Off

There is a Stored Event in the log, which can be viewed from the front panel, or
Amber
retrieved via the remote control interface
Off There are no Stored Events
Green The Tx IF is ON.
Off The Tx IF is OFF.
Amber The Unit is in Remote Mode – local monitoring is possible, but no local control
Off The Unit is in Local Mode – remote monitoring is possible, but no remote control
Amber A Test Mode is selected (Example: IF Loopback)
Off There is no Test Mode currently selected
