If the pen is too close to the slide (leaving wide marks or bent pen tip), click on the Prev button to
move the pen away from the slide. If the pen is not close enough to the slide, click on the Next button
to bring the pen tip closer to the slide.
Click on Save to save the position.

Marker Calibration
Calibration of the pen used for physically marking the slide positions the pen so that the ink mark is
within the 'L' shape of the mark indicator. Minimally, calibration should be performed:
Daily
Every time a new marker is installed
After a mark is rejected while verifying marks
Note:
The object marker on ThinPrep Review Scope model numbers 70575-001, 70575-003, 71062-
001, and 71062-002 uses an ultra fine tip Sharpie
ThinPrep Review Scope model numbers 70669-001, 70669-002, and 70669-003 uses a Pilot
extra fine marking pen. These pens are widely used for marking slides.
Note:
If using a 4-button pod, joystick calibration should be done before marker calibration.
To calibrate the object marker, the Review Scope must be powered On. The lamp illuminator should
be on and the white mark indicator lamp intensity should be turned up to a brightness for normal
viewing.
From the menu, select option 3, Setup Marker, and then select option 2, Marker Cal.
