PERATION OF THE
Slide Orientation:
Frosted Side Up,
Label to the Left
Press the Next button on the pod. A flash of red light and a beep will indicate that the slide accession
ID has been scanned.
Note:
If the slide reader cannot read the numeric slide ID, you may have to manually enter the slide
ID number or manually review the slide. (Refer to "Text Messages on the Console Display" on
page 6.1.)
Register the Slide Fiducial Marks
The stage will move the slide to present the first fiducial mark in the field of view. The display on the
console prompts to align the first mark.
Using the joystick on the Navigator Pod, manipulate the view of the slide fiducial mark to align it
against the inner edge of the illuminated mark indicator. The left and bottom edges of the fiducial
mark should register with the inside of the 'L' mark. Bring the fiducial mark into sharp focus. (Refer
to Figure 3-3.)
