Note:
The self-signed certificate does not provide the same level of security as a CA-issued certificate.
HTTPS allows secure connections between the camera and web browser using Secure Socket Layer (SSL)
or Transport Layer Security (TLS) to protect camera settings and username/password info. A self-signed
certificate or a CA-signed certificate is required to implement HTTPS.
To create a self-signed certificate
Before a CA-issued certificate is obtained, users can first create and install a self-signed certificate. Under
the Security category, click the HTTPS tab in the sidebar to display the following screen.
1. On the HTTPS page, click Create under Create Self-Signed Certificate. The Create Self-Signed
Certificate dialog box opens.
