Audio

From the Audio screen you can select the Transmission Mode, Server Gain, Bit Rate, and enable or
disable storage of the audio recording.
Transmission Mode
Full-duplex (Talk and listen simultaneously) – In the Full-duplex mode, the local and remote sites

can communicate with each other simultaneously, i.e. both sites can speak and be heard at the
same time.
Half-duplex (Talk or listen, not at the same time) – In the Half-duplex mode, the local or remote
·
site can only talk or listen to the other site at one time.
·
Simplex (Talk only) – In the Talk only Simplex mode, the local/remote site can only talk to the
other site.
Simplex (Listen only) – In the Listen only Simplex mode, the local/remote site can only listen to
·
the other site.
Disable – Select this option to turn off the audio transmission function.

Server Gain Setting
Set the audio input/output gain levels for sound amplification. The audio input gain is adjustable from 1 to 6.
The audio output gain is adjustable from 1-6. The sound will be turned off if the audio gain is set to Mute.
The default audio input and output gain setting is 3.
Bit Rate
Selectable audio transmission bit rate include 16 kbps (G.726), 24 kbps (G.726), 32 kbps (G.726), 40 kbps
(G.726), µLAW (G.711) and ALAW (G.711). Both µLAW and ALAW signify 64 kbps, but in different
compression formats. A higher bit rate enables higher audio quality, but requires higher bandwidth. The
default setting is uLAW.
