Problem Observed
A portion of the lead edge of
the image is cut off. The
remaining part of the image
is satisfactory.
Part of the side or bottom of
the image is cut off.
The image is stretched or
compressed in the process
direction, or contains parts
that are stretched or
compressed in the process
direction.
XPC/ES8150only:The
Scanner fails normalization
when the Normalize
Scanner button is selected
from the Scanner Tests
screen in the main Ul
program, When using the
extended diagnostics, the
Scanner does normalize.
Entry RAP
Probable Cause
The document registration
adjustment is incorrect..
1. The selected image size does
not correspond to the actual
document size.
2. The document has been
inserted with an incorrect
orientation.
3. If part of the side is cut off,
there may be a fault in the camera
cables or the Control PWB.
There is a malfunction in the
Document Drive System.
To normalize from the main Ul
program in the SIM/XPC, the
Scanner must be connected for
normal operation, not diagnostic
operation.

Go to Section 4 and perform
the Calibrate Document
Registration adjustment..
1. Select the correct image
size and scan the image
again.
2. Rotate the document 90
degrees and insert the
document again.
3. Go to the Scanner Will
Not Normalize CQ RAP.
Go to the Document Drive
RAP (Section 2).
Reconnect the cables in the
SIM for normal operation
before attempting to
normalize the Scanner from
the Ul itself.
