(2) Details
1) Enter the normal diag mode and select VOL TEST MAIN CH
mode with the MENU key.
2) Select the VOL TEST TC mode with the ü key and é key.
3) Press the FORM FEED key to turn on the transfer voltage. It can
be turned off with the RESET key.
4) Set the output level to 1500 with the ü key and é key.
5) Measure between the transfer voltage electrode and the ground
(chassis) with the multi meter digital.
6) Check that the voltage value is within the range below.
–1500V ±100V (–1400 ∼ –1600)
If the current is not in the above range, perform the following
procedures.
* Check for any current leak or disconnection.
* Replace the high voltage PWB or the transfer drum unit.
(3) Precaution
* Be careful of the high voltage when checking.
(4) Troubles caused by improper output
* Paper jam in the transfer drum section
* Picture quality defect
E. Transfer drum discharger current check
(1) Outline/purpose
In the diag mode, let the transfer discharging voltage to be outputted
and check that the proper current is outputted.
(2) Details
1) Remove the discharger high voltage PWB.
2) Remove the output wire the discharger high voltage PWB.
3) Connect a resistor of 200 MΩ and the digital multi meter (current
range) between the discharger high voltage PWB output wire and
the chassis.
4) Enter the normal diag mode and select VOL TEST MAIN CH
mode with the MENU key.
5) Select the VOL TEST TC mode with the ü key and é key.
6) Press the FORM FEED key to turn on the transfer voltage. It can
be turned off with the RESET key.
7) Press the LINE key to turn on the transfer drum discharger.
8) Check that the current value is within the range below.
12 ±1.0 µA
If the current is not in the above range, perform the following
procedures.
* Check for any current leak or disconnection.
* Replace the high voltage PWB, the transfer charger high volt-
age PWB, the discharger unit, and the transfer drum.
(3) Precaution
* Be careful of the high voltage when checking.
(4) Troubles caused by improper output
* Picture quality defect
* Paper jam in the transfer drum section
* Toner drop (splash)
