4) Gases and chemicals
Avoid installation near gases and chemicals. Especially be careful
of a diazo copier, which may generate ammonia gas. Installation
near gases may adversely affect print quality, causing troubles.
5) Vibration
Avoid installation near a machine which generates vibrations.
If vibrations are exerted to the printer, the print images are
deflected and troubles may be caused.

2. Printer Handling

In order to maintain the printer's high performance, always adhere to
the following handling procedures.
(1) Do not allow the printer to fall over, be
subjected to shocks, or be hit by foreign
objects.
(2) Do not subject the drum cartridge to light.
If subjected to excessive light, the photoconductive surface of the
drum (green surface) will be damaged, resulting in poor print quality.
(3) Always store spare toner cartridges, developer
units, or drum cartridges, in a dark location
without removing them from the boxes they
came in.
3. Unpacking
1) Cut the packing straps and tape that hold the top portion of the
box onto the printer package and lift off the top portion.
2) Lift off the top Styrofoam packing to expose the printer. Then with
two people holding the printer at its bottom, carefully lift up the
printer and carry it to the location where it is to be installed.
WARNING: When carrying the printer, always have at least two
people lift the printer. The printer weighs approximately
42 kg (93 pounds) with all components installed. At-
tempting to lift it alone can lead to injury.
3) After removing any remaining protective tape, proceed to the next
section.
