5.2 CONNECTING THE MODEL 8435 TO YOUR COMPUTER

The Model 8435 is supplied with a USB cable required for connecting the instrument to the computer.
To connect the instrument to your computer:
1. Connect the USB cable to the port on the front panel of the instrument.
2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a USB port on your computer.
3. Turn the instrument on.
You are now ready to use the DataView

5.3 OPENING THE CONTROL PANEL

To open the PowerPad III Control Panel:
1. Double-click the PowerPad III icon
2. The Connection window will appear (see Figure 5-5). Once the communication link is established, DataView
automatically identify the instrument that it is connected to.
3. Make sure the communications port displayed in the dialog box matches the instrument you plugged the USB cable
into. If the correct port is not selected, click on the drop-down menu to select it.
4. Click Next, then click Finish when DataView
