The SCL/SCM Seres drve contans two or three sets of parameter values, dependng on
whether the drve has been programmed wth optonal OEM default settngs . The first set
of values s the factory default settngs, whch are permanently stored on the man control
board and cannot be changed . The second set of values s the user settngs, whch are
stored n the EPM . When the drve leaves the factory, the user settngs are the same as
the factory default settngs, but the user settngs can be changed to configure the drve
for a partcular applcaton . The optonal thrd set of values s the OEM default settngs,
whch are also stored n the EPM . OEM default settngs are typcally used n cases where
many drves are used for the same applcaton, whch requres that all of the drves have
the same parameter settngs . The OEM default settngs cannot be changed wthout the
optonal EPM Programmer . The drve can be programmed to operate accordng to the user
settngs or the OEM default settngs (Refer to Parameter 48 n Secton 15) .
NOTE
The drve wll not operate wthout the EPM nstalled . The drve wll dsplay "F1" f
the EPM s mssng or damaged .
STOP!
Do not remove the EPM whle power s appled to the drve . Damage to the EPM
and/or drve may result .
The optonal EPM Programmer has the ablty to quckly and easly program many SC
Seres drves for the same configuraton . Once a "master" EPM s programmed wth the
desred parameter settngs, the EPM Programmer can then copy those settngs to other
EPMs, allowng many drves to be configured very quckly . Consult the EPM Programmer
Instructon Manual or contact the factory for more nformaton .
If the OEM settngs n the EPM become corrupted, the drve wll operate normally, untl an
attempt s made to perform a RESET OEM usng Parameter 48, PROGRAM SELECTION .
The drve wll then flash "GF" to ndcate that the OEM settngs are no longer vald . The
EPM must then be re-programmed usng the optonal EPM Programmer .
If the OEM settngs and the user settngs are both corrupted, the drve wll dsplay "GF"
mmedately and the drve wll requre a RESET 60 or RESET 50 usng Parameter 48,
PROGRAM SELECTION . Once the RESET s performed, the parameters can then be
programmed ndvdually to match the OEM default settngs . Ths wll allow the drve to
operate as f t were n OEM mode, even though t s actually operatng n USER mode .

NOTE
The drve wll also dsplay "GF" f a RESET OEM or OPERATE WITH OEM SETTINGS
s attempted when the EPM does not contan OEM defaults .
