INSTALLATION
Ensure proper handlng and avod excessve mechancal stress . Do not bend any
components and do not change any nsulaton dstances durng transport, handlng,
nstallaton or mantenance .
Do not touch any electronc components or contacts . Ths drve contans electrostatcally
senstve components, whch can easly be damaged by napproprate handlng . Statc
control precautons must be adhered to durng nstallaton, testng, servcng and reparng
of ths drve and assocated optons . Component damage may result f proper procedures
are not followed .
Ths drve has been tested by Underwrters Laboratory (UL) and s an approved component
n complance wth UL508C Safety Standard .

Ths drve must be nstalled and configured n accordance wth both natonal and nternatonal
standards . Local codes and regulatons take precedence over recommendatons provded
n ths and other AC Tech documentaton .
The drve s consdered a component for ntegraton nto a machne or process . It s nether
a machne nor a devce ready for use n accordance wth European drectves (reference
machnery drectve and electromagnetc compatblty drectve) . It s the responsblty of
the end user to ensure that the machne meets the applcable standards .
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
When workng on lve drve controllers, applcable natonal safety regulatons must be
observed . The electrcal nstallaton must be carred out accordng to the approprate
regulatons (e .g . cable cross-sectons, fuses, protectve earth [PE] connecton) . Whle
ths document does make recommendatons n regards to these tems, natonal and local
codes must be adhered to .
The documentaton contans nformaton about nstallaton n complance wth EMC
(sheldng, groundng, filters and cables) . These notes must also be observed for CE-
marked controllers . The manufacturer of the system or machne s responsble for
complance wth the requred lmt values demanded by EMC legslaton .
APPLICATION
The drve must not be used as a safety devce for machnes where there s a rsk of
personal njury or materal damage . Emergency Stops, over-speed protecton, acceleraton
and deceleraton lmts, etc must be made by other devces to ensure operaton under
all condtons .

• Shall be nstalled n a Polluton Degree 2 macro-envronment .
