INITIAL POWER UP AND MOTOR ROTATION

DANGER!
Hazard of electrcal shock! Wat three mnutes after dsconnectng ncomng power
before servcng drve . Capactors retan charge after power s removed .
STOP!
• DO NOT connect ncomng AC power to output termnals U, V, and W or
termnals B+, B-! Severe damage to the drve wll result . Do not contnuously
cycle nput power to the drve more than once every two mnutes . Damage to
the drve wll result .
• Severe damage to the drve can result f t s operated after a long
perod of storage or nactvty wthout reformng the DC bus capactors!
Refer to Secton 6 .1, Installation After a Long Period of Storage
Before attemptng to operate the drve, motor, and drven equpment, be sure all procedures
pertanng to nstallaton and wrng have been properly followed .
Dsconnect the drven load from the motor . Verfy that the drve nput termnals (L1 and
L2/N, or L1, L2, and L3) are wred to the proper nput voltage per the nameplate ratng
of the drve .
Energze the ncomng power lne . The LED dsplay wll flash a three dgt number (320
n the example below) that dentfies the parameter verson contaned n the drve . The
dsplay should then read "- - -", whch ndcates that the drve s n a STOP condton . Ths
s shown below:

Dsplay then reads "- - -"
Follow ths 4-step procedure to check the motor rotaton . Ths procedure assumes that
the drve has been powered up for the first tme, and that none of the parameters have
been changed .
1 . Use the  button to decrease the speed setpont to 00 .0 Hz . The left decmal pont
wll llumnate as the speed setpont s decreased . If the  button s held down, the
speed setpont wll decrease by tenths of Hz untl the next whole Hz s reached, and
then t wll decrease by one Hz ncrements . Otherwse, each push of the  button wll
decrease the speed setpont by a tenth of a Hz .
Once 00 .0 Hz s reached, the dsplay wll toggle between "00 .0" and "- - -", whch
ndcates that the drve s n a STOP condton wth a speed setpont of 00 .0 Hz .
2 . Gve the drve a START command . Ths can be done usng one of several wrng
methods descrbed n Secton 11, SCL/SCM CONTROL WIRING DIAGRAMS . Once
the START command s ssued, the dsplay wll read "00 .0", ndcatng that the drve
s n a RUN condton wth a speed setpont of 00 .0 Hz .
