Procedure overview

The procedure overview below describes how to copy the DB2 alarm files (TS format)
directly from a PCU 50.5 or NCU and import them to your WinCC project.
Alternatively, the import of alarm files in CSV format is also supported. This can, for
example, be created if you manage your language-dependent text files with SINUMERIK
Integrate Access My Machine /P2P (Page 108).
Requirement
● A PC system with WinCC RT Advanced or a SIMATIC Panel has been added.

● A device proxy or a SINUMERIK NCU is inserted.

● An integrated connection is configured between the connection partners.

Procedure overview
To configure SINUMERIK DB2 alarms with WinCC Advanced and display them in runtime,
proceed as follows:

Make the DB2 alarm files available in the required languages. The following options are available:
You can copy the files via the SINUMERIK Operate user interface, for example to a USB flash drive (Page 99).
You can copy the files with Windows Explorer from the following directory that is created during the installation
of SINUMERIK Operate:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Siemens\MotionControl\oem\Sinumerik\hmi\lng

Check whether all languages in which you want to import DB2 alarms are enabled as project languages in the TIA
Portal.
To check which exported DB2 alarm files correspond to which project languages in the TIA Portal, refer to Sec-
tion Language assignment in language-dependent texts (Page 140).
How to activate the project languages is described in Section Enable project languages (Page 136).

Import the DB2 alarm files into the TIA Portal (Page 100).

Configure the output of the DB2 alarms with the "Alarm view" control.
