2. Right-click on the device proxy and select the "Initialize device proxy" command.
3. In the "Open device proxy data source" dialog. select the STEP 7 V5.x project (*.s7p) and
confirm the selection with "Open".
4. In the "Initialize device proxy" dialog, select the PLC data to be integrated in the device
proxy and confirm the selection with "OK".
Result
A device proxy has been added and selected the STEP 7 V5.x project as the data source.
Under the device proxy in the project tree, the corresponding data of the SINUMERIK PLC
are displayed from the STEP 7 V5.x project, e.g. PLC tags and program blocks. However,
you only have read access to this data via the device proxy. To change something, you need
to edit the project in STEP 7 V5.x. The select the "Update device proxy data" command in
the shortcut menu of the device proxy.
The device proxy serves as a connection partner to form an integrated connection between a
SIMATIC Panel or PC system with WinCC RT Advanced and a PLC (see Configure an
integrated connection (Page 62)). You can therefore also use it to import SINUMERIK DB2
alarms (Page 97).
