Entering Consumables Installation Information

After you have installed a new consumable item, enter the installation date so the Analyzer can keep track of
usage and alert you when consumables are nearing the end of their life.
To enter consumables installation information
1.
Select the Maintenance tab.
2.
Press the Consumables button.
3.
Press the Reset Pump or Reset Tubing button for the item you have installed.

Other Maintenance Tasks

Other maintenance tasks are performed only when required, as indicated below.

Replacing the High Pressure Valve Seals

Wear eye protection and gloves when performing this task.
The Sievers InnovOx Online TOC Analyzer has two high pressure valves (V4-R and V5-R). These valves are
identified in Figure 54. Each valve contains a seal that wears over time. The seals should be replaced after one
month of operation. The Analyzer issues a warning when the seals are starting to leak. Replace the seals using
the following procedure if that warning is reported.
To replace the seals
1.
Shut down the Analyzer via the on-screen menu (Maintenance

Wait for the display to turn off, and then off power to the Analyzer using the main power switch on the
side of the Analyzer.
3.
Open the door of the Analyzer.
4.
Remove the four screws that secure the valve motor to the Analyzer, using a 5/32 in. Allen wrench (hex
key).
5.
Pull the motor away from the Analyzer (Figure 56). The seal is threaded on the motor shaft.
6.
Remove the seal from the end of the shaft, using a 3/8 in wrench (Figure 56 and Figure 57).
7.
Locate the new seal and inspect the valve seating surface. Clean the valve seal surface with a paper
towel and water, if needed.
