Chapter 6: Analyzer Operation

Online Measurements

This section provides an overview of planning for online measurements, including: working with continuous
measurements, operation with multiple streams, cycle frequency, and calculated run time.

Continuous Measurements

By turning Continuous On, the Analyzer makes continuous measurements of the enabled sample streams and
the Check Standard (if it is enabled). Continuous measurement of Stream 1 is shown in Figure 23. Only Stream 1
and the Check Standard are enabled in this example, so measurements of Stream 1 are made without a pause,
with two exceptions.
Figure 23: Continuous Operation
The first exception is the Check Standard, since it is enabled. Measurements of the Check Standard are made
according to the schedule established by the operator. In the example shown in Figure 24, the check standard is
measured every three hours (the Check Standard Frequency). Since two Repetitions have been selected, the
check standard is measured twice every three hours. The first measurement is ignored because it has been
designated as a Reject.
