If the washer became free upon removal, before reinstalling the syringe into the valve, ensure
OTE
that the washer is in place at the top of the syringe.
13. Screw the syringe base into the threading in the valve by turning the base to the right.
14. Using a 3/32 Allen wrench, tighten the screw that secures the syringe. The top of the syringe moves
independently of the syringe plunger, so it can be aligned with the screw hole.
15. Close the door to the instrument, and restore power to the instrument.
16. Before returning the Analyzer to normal operation, run the Liquid Reactor Flow Diagnostic to confirm
movement of the newly lubricated syringe.
Also confirm that no leaks are present.

Consumables Replacement

Replacing the Pinch Valve Tubing

Pinch valve tubing in the Analyzer's pinch valves must be replaced periodically to ensure proper operation of
these valves. The tubing should be replaced after one year of operating time for neutral pH samples. If samples
are acidic or basic, the tubing should be replaced every 3 to 6 months. The operating life remaining in the tubing
is shown on the Analyzer's Main screen and on the Consumables screen. For this procedure, the Analyzer
should be powered on. Contact GE Analytical Instruments at 303. 444.2009 or 800.255.2595 for a replacement
kit. Technical support in the United Kingdom is available at 44 (0) 161 864 6800.
