To do this, we will choose a Sound and make use of the Audio page in its Input properties.

Step 1: Configure MASCHINE Audio Inputs

MASCHINE's audio input configuration can be done in the software only. Furthermore, this
configuration is necessary only if you use MASCHINE as stand-alone application.
If you are using MASCHINE as a plug-in in a host application, MASCHINE can receive au-
dio from your host on any of its four stereo virtual inputs. To find out how to route audio in
your host to the virtual inputs of the MASCHINE plug-in, please refer to your host docu-
mentation. When this is done, go directly to section
Receive the External
MASCHINE in Stand-Alone Mode
Please make sure that you have connected an external audio signal source to your audio inter-
face and that the inputs of the audio interface are activated. To do this:
1. Select the Audio and MIDI Settings... entry from the
MIDI Settings panel.
2. In the Audio and MIDI Settings
activate the desired inputs by clicking their field in the second column and selecting a
physical input from the drop-down menu, then click OK.
Audio signals coming from external sources plugged in the inputs selected here will now

be routed to the MASCHINE inputs shown in the first column.
