Step
1 Check parts with different specifications for problems with
usage, defective installation, breakage, deformation, and adhe-
sion of grime or foreign matter.
• Main parts to be checked:
(1) Drive assy, (2) MCU PCB, (3) LVPS assy
(4) Feeder assy, (5) Optional feeder unit
(6) Take away roll assy, (7) EPX toner cartridge
(8) Fuser assy
2 (Check drive assy) *1
Does the drive assy rotate smoothly when the hand crank is used?
3 (Check power supply of main motor) *2
Is 24 VDC being supplied between P/J14-1PIN
2PIN, and between P/J14-2PIN
4 (Check main motor)
Is there conductivity (approximately 5Ω) between the following?

5 (Check replacement of MCU PCB)
Does the problem occur after the MCU PCB has been replaced
with a normal one?
6 (Check optional feeder unit) *1
Remove the optional feeder unit and see if the drive assy rotates
smoothly when the hand crank is used.
7 (Check feeder assy) *1
Remove the feeder assy and see if the drive assy rotates
smoothly when the hand crank is used.
8 (Check take away roll assy) *1
Remove the take away roll assy and see if the drive assy rotates
smoothly when the hand crank is used.
9 (Check EPX toner cartridge) *1
Remove the EPX toner cartridge and see if the drive assy
rotates smoothly when the hand crank is used.
10 (Check fuser assy) *1
Remove the fuser assy and see if the drive assy rotates smoothly
when the hand crank is used.
*1: The direction of rotation for the gears attached to the main motor is in the counterclockwise direction when the
machine is viewed from the right.
Note: Never rotate the gears attached to the main motor in the clockwise direction as viewed from the right side of the
machine.
*2: Check with the connector (P/J111) disconnected from the HVPS.
