Step
1 Check parts with different specifications for problems with
usage, defective installation, breakage, deformation, and adhe-
sion of grime or foreign matter.
• Main parts to be checked:
(1) Feeder assy, (2) Optional feeder unit, (3) Feeder PCB
(4) Feeder PCB aux, (5) Size spring, (6) MCU PCB
(7) Harness assy 1tray, (8) Harness assy out, (9) LVPS assy
2 (Check size spring) *1
When the size spring is pressed, does the paper size switch in
the position corresponding to the size spring go on?
Remove Tray 1/Tray 2 and check visually.
3 (Check power supply of paper size switch) *1 *2
Is 5 VDC being supplied between P/J13-2PIN
4 (Check paper size signal) *1 *2 *3
Is normal voltage being supplied between P/J13-5PIN {P/J13-

6PIN} P/J13-4PIN when the four paper size switches are in
the correct ON/OFF combination?
5 (Check harness assy 1tray) *1
Is there conductivity between J13
Tray 1?
6 Are the paper size switches of Tray 1 defective?
7 (Check feeder PCB)
Is there conductivity between P115
PCB?
8 (Check harness assy out)
Is there conductivity between P116

*1: This is noted for both Tray 1 (upper cassette feeder) and Tray 2 (lower cassette feeder). To distinguish Tray 1 from
Tray 2, items concerning Tray 2 are enclosed in brackets { }.
*2: Check with the connector (P/J111) disconnected from the HVPS.
*3: For information on the correct voltage to be supplied between P/J13-5PIN {P/J13-6PIN}
to the ON/OFF combinations of the paper size switches, please refer to Chapter 4, Section 5-2, "Connection Wiring
Diagram Between Parts".
