TROUBLESHOOTING
3-12. Faulty CRU Switch
Step
1
Check parts with different specifications for problems with
usage, defective installation, breakage, deformation, and adhe-
sion of grime or foreign matter.
• Main parts to be checked:
(1) CRU sensor PCB, (2) MCU PCB, (3) CRU sensor assy
(4) EPX toner cartridge, (5) Harness assy HVPS
(6) LVPS assy
2
(Check operation of CRU actuator assy)
In the CRU actuator assy, does the CRU switch (S100) of the
CRU sensor PCB go on when the EPX toner cartridge is
installed, and off when there is no EPX toner cartridge?
• Remove the CRU sensor cover and try installing and remov-
ing the EPX toner cartridge to check the CRU actuator assy
visually.
3
(Check EPX toner cartridge)
Check to see if the protruding section of the EPX toner
cartridge is positioned properly to move the CRU actuator assy.
4
(Check CRU sensor PCB)
Is there conductivity between P118-1PIN
the CRU switch (S100) of the CRU sensor PCB is on, and no
conductivity when the switch is off?
5
(Check EP CHECK ON signal) *1
Is 0 VDC being supplied between P/J15-10PIN
11PIN when the CRU switch (S100) of the CRU sensor PCB
is on, and 5 VDC when the sensor is off?
6
(Check harness assy HVPS)
Is there conductivity between J15
*1: Check with the connector (P/J111) disconnected from the HVPS.
