Image Defects

Note: The following items assume that the main logic board is normal. However, the Test Print mode can be used to
determine if the problem is with the main logic board or the engine side.
• If printing is normal in Test Print mode → The problem is on the main logic board side.
• If printing is abnormal in Test Print mode → The problem is on the engine side.
If a problem occurs with the image quality of the printing, make sure the cause of the problem can be accurately pinpointed
and the appropriate action taken, by using the "Letter" or "A4" size for printing. Then refer to the tables showing the
various image quality problems. This allows more efficient troubleshooting procedures.
If the problem cannot be solved using the image quality problem tables, check the tables once again, and try replacing
the "Main Parts to be checked" listed under "Initial Check" one by one. Also, use the "Maintenance Guide" in Chapter
4 to carry out troubleshooting procedures.
