Notes on Usage
The section explains notes on the usage of USB connected floppy disk drive.
Notes on floppy disk drive recognition at server startup
If a USB floppy disk drive, with a floppy disk inserted, is not connected at server startup, BIOS cannot
recognize the USB floppy disk drive.
For the following situations, make sure to connect the USB floppy disk drive with a floppy disk inserted
before the server startup.
• When installing OS such as Windows
• When using Windows Automatic System Recovery (ASR)
• When using Disaster Recovery Option of BrightStor ARCserve Backup
Setting the boot priority
To boot from a floppy disk, follow the procedure below to give high priority to the USB floppy disk
drive on booting. If this setting is not configured, you cannot access the floppy disk when booting from
the floppy disk to use Server Management Tool, installing OS manually, and using Windows Automated
System Recovery (ASR).
When using a floppy disk drive on Windows OS, you can use it regardless of this setting.

Connect a USB floppy disk drive to the server, and turn on the server.

During POST, press the [F2] key while the message "<F2>BIOS Setup /
<F12>BOOT Menu" is displayed on the screen.

On the [Main] menu, select [Boot Options], and press the [Enter] key.

Select [Boot Sequence], and press the [Enter] key.

Select [Diskette], and press the [Enter] key.

Check to see "Y-E DATA USB-FDD-(USB1.1)" is shown above "TANDBERG
