Automatic PBX Software Update

Stay informed on the news in the PBX software of the PBX (on our
homepage on the Internet). The version number of the software used in
this PBX can be requested via system telephone (COMfort 1000, 1200
or 2000), a connected system display SD-420 (special accessory) or via
telephone (see chapter Interrogate the Firmware Version on page
If the software is not up to date, you will have to make an automatic PBX
software update after the installation and the configuration. During
this update the PBX will make independently a telephone connection to
one of the servers at Auerswald and the current software will be trans-
ferred while the call data and configurations will remain preserved.
Besides of the costs incurred for the necessary telephone connection
this update is free of charge. The PBX already knows the telephone
number of the server at Auerswald. If the telephone number changes,
you will be able to enter this change into the configuration program.
The update may be initialized via telephone by dialling a sequence of
digits (see chapter Perform an automatic PBX Firmware Update on
page B-62 in the user manual), time-controlled
figurations for the time-automated Software Update on page
pressing the buttons inside the case as described here. You should only
start this procedure, if the PBX is idle (that means not during business
hours) because all the calls will automatically be terminated by the PBX.
The procedure will last 5 minutes.
If the function is finished, the LED display will return to the
default level after 3 minutes (or after 2 seconds pressing the
Select key continuously) (see

once more (function has failed), press the Enter key once more for 2
seconds.
If the procedure lasts less than 60 seconds and you get a display „func-
tion finished successfully", the PBX software has already been up to
date.
After a successful PBX software update existing LCR data may be de-
leted.

Terminal Test on the internal S

With this function you can test whether the telephone numbers (MSNs)
were correctly entered into the internal ISDN and system telephones
and if these numbers are correctly presented to the PBX (see
Configuration of ISDN Devices on page
57). will get an error message during this test when picking up the receiver.
This error message will remain until you reactivate the test again or the
LED display will automatically return to the default level (after one hour
of testing).
If the function is activated, the LED display will return to the
default level after 1 hour (or after pressing the Select key for
2 seconds) (see
