DRIVE CHAIN SLACK ADJUSTMENT

Check:
• Drive chain slack

Out of specification--->Adjust.
Drive chain slack:
30'"'-'40 mm (1.18'"'-'1.57 in)
NOTE: ______________________ ___
To check the chain slack, the motorcycle must
stand vertically with its both wheels on the
ground and without a rider.
2. Adjust

Too small chain slack will overload the
engine and other vital parts; keep the slack
within the specified limits.
• Remove the cotter pin
CD
and loosen the axle
nut

• Loosen the bolt
@
(caliper bracket)
.
• Loosen the bolts
®
(swingarm end)

• Turn the chain puller
CD
clockwise or coun-
terclockwise
until the
specified
slack
is
obtained
.
NOTE: ________________________ __
Turn each
chain
puller exactly the same
amount to maintain correct axle alignment.
(There are marks on each side of swingarm and
on each chain puller
;
use them to check for
proper alignment)
.
• Tighten
the
axle
nut and
bolt
(caliper
bracket) , bolts (swingarm end)
.
Axle nut:
90 Nm (9.0 m . kg. 65
ft· Ib)
Bolt (caliper bracket):
45 Nm (4.5 m • kg. 32
ft· Ib\
Bolt (swingarm end):
3 Nm (0.3 m'kg, 2.2 ft'lb)
