DESCRIPTION
Idle speed fluctuation or hunting may occur when the electrical load such as headlights, rear defroster
and so on are turned on while idling. This condition likely occurs easily if the idle speed is adjusted too
low.
If you encounter a customer with a 1988-1989 626/M X -6 MTX complaining o f idle fluctuation or similar
complaint, adjust the idle speed according to the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Warm up the engine and check that
the idle speed is within the specifi­
cation.
★ Idle Speed: 750 ± 25 RPM
(in Neutral, with Test Connector
grounded)
2. Check if the idle fluctuation occurs
when the head light and rear defrost­
er are turned on. If the fluctuation is
still present, adjust the idle speed to
950-1000 rpm with the test connector
grounded, (in Neutral or N-Range).
