DESCRIPTION
Aluminum road wheels that are hard to remove from the vehicle may be caused by galvanic corrosion
between the wheel and hub. This condition is more likely to develop in areas that use large amounts o f salt.
To correct this and prevent future corrosion build-up, clean the mating surfaces and apply grease. Refer
to the following service procedure for detailed information.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Remove the four (4) wheel and tire assemblies.
2.
Using a wire brush, steel wool or other suitable material, remove the corrosion from front hubs, rear
axle flanges and wheel center bore.
3.
Apply grease (lithium base, NLGL No. 2) to the wheel center bore.
NOTE:
Do not allow grease in the wheel lug nut seats or on the wheel stud.
4.
Reinstall the wheels on the vehicle.
