Cause
No AC power is available
The AC adapter is not plugged in
Automatic shutoff configured in
Setup (code 8 7 1)
The load exceeds the balance capacity Unload the balance capacity
The weighing pan is not in place
Data output not compatible with
output format
Calibration/adjustment condition
not met, e.g.,
– The balance was not tared
– The balance is loaded
Calibration/adjustment could not
be completed within a certain time
Built-in calibration weight
is defective
Function not allowed in balances
verified for use in legal metrology
The load on the balance is too
heavy to zero the readout
Taring is not possible when the gross
weight is ≤ zero
Tare key and 2nd tare memory are
blocked when there is data in the
tare memory for the formulation
application
Differential weighing:
The tare key is blocked when a tare
weight is stored for a specific sample
Tare memory not allowed
– Cannot load the sample tare weight
– Total weight in the tare memory
exceeds the capacity of the balance
– Tare value exceeds the fine range
of the verified balance
Tare memory greater than weighing
range or range limits
Internal adjustment is not possible
because preload is too heavy
Interface port for printer output
is blocked
Solution
Check the AC power supply
Plug in the AC adapter
Press e to switch on the balance
or select code 8 7 2
in Setup ("no automatic shutoff")
Place the weighing pan on the balance
Change the configuration in
the Setup menu
Calibrate only when zero
is displayed
Press t to tare
Unload the balance
Allow the balance to warm up again
and repeat the adjustment process

on having the settings changed
Check whether the "power-on
zero range" is set
Zero the balance
Press c to clear the formulation
application; the tare key and 2nd
tare memory are then accessible
Differential weighing:
Unload the balance or change
to a different sample
