1. Remove the stator/plate brush holder as­
sembly from the starter motor.
2. Undo the nuts,shown fixing the electro­
magnet to the starter motor.
3. Remove the electro-magnet.
4. Extract the spring guide bush from the
starter motor.
5. Using a screwdriver, remove and extract
the rotor/pinion engagement fork assem­
bly from the starter motor front support.
