Re-entering the code
Proceed as follows:
- Switch on the radio by pressing the " O N "
button ( 2 3 ) , the word "SAFE" should ap­
pear for around 3 seconds on the display;
- key in the code number following the pro­
cedure used for entering the code initially;
- confirm the code number by keeping the
"TP" button (10) pressed until the w o r d
"SAFE" appears on the display;
- after about 3 seconds the radio is opera­
tional and the code is activated.
If an incorrect code has been intro­
duced, the radio remains locked and
the word "SAFE" appears perma­
nently on the displaye.
As a further deterrent against theft, the sys­
tem prevents repeated attempts at entering
the code w i t h increasing longer intervals be­
tween one attempt and the next.
During these intervals the radio will not work
until the w o r d "SAFE" disappears from the
display and the number of attempts appears
in its place. The table at the side indicates the
intervals between the individual attempts.
Eliminating anti-theft protection
It is possible to eliminate the anti-theft pro­
tection by de-activating the radio code:
- switch on the radio by pressing the " O N "
button ( 2 3 ) ;
- Keep the "TP" button (10) pressed until
the word "SAFE" appears on the display for
around 3 seconds;
- key in the code number working as described previously (see previous page);
- confirm the code number by keeping the "TP" button (10) pressed) until the w o r d "CODE" appears
on the display;
- after around 3 seconds the radio is operational and the code is de-activated.
If an incorrect code is entered, the w o r d "SAFE" will appear on the display". If this is the case, try again
observing the intervals between the individual attempts.
Checking the activation state of the code
To check whether the radio code is activated, proceed as follows:
- switch on the radio by pressing the " O N " button" ( 2 3 ) ;
- press button "TP" (10) until something appears on the display;
- if the word "SAFE" appears, the code is activated, if, on the other hand, the word "CODE" appears
then the code is not activated; by switching the radio off and then on again, the word "SAFE" or
"CODE" w i l l disappear.
