Ignition Switch Circuit Inspection - Honda 2003 NPS50 Ruckus Service Manual

BATTERY/CHARGING SYSTEM
Check the following at the harness side connector
terminals.
BATTERY LINE
Measure the voltage between the Red wire terminal
and ground.
When the ignition switch is turned to OFF, there is
no voltage and when the ignition switch is turned to
ON, there should be voltage.
If the measurements are abnormal, inspect the main
relay (page 1 6-1 1 ) .
GROUND LINE
Check the continuity between the Green wire termi-
nal and ground.
There should be continuity at all time.
If there is no continuity, check for a n open or short
circuit in the wire harness.
CHARGING COIL LINE
Measure the resistance between the Red/yellow,
Red/white and Red/blue wire terminals.
ST ANDARD: 0.05
IGNITION SWITCH CIRCUIT
INSPECTION
Remove the front cover (page 3-6).
Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
Disconnect the i gnition switch 3P connector.
Measure the voltage between the Red/b'lue wire ter­
minal and ground.
There should be battery voltage at all time.
If there is no voltage, check the following:
- Open or short circuit in wire harness.
- ECM battery line (page 1 6-1 0).
Disconnect the ECM 26P connector.
Check the continuity of the Red/green wire termi­
nals between the ignition switch 3P connector and
ECM 26P connector.
There should be continuity.
