CYLINDER HEAD/VALVES
Install the valve springs with the tightly wound coils
facing the combustion chamber.
Install the spring retainers.

Tap the valve stems gently with two plastic ham­
mers as shown to seat the cotters firmly.
CYLINDER H EAD I NSTALLATION
Clean the mating surface of the cylinder and cylin­
der head.
Install the cam chain, cam chain
tensioner (page 9-13).
Install the dowel pins and a new gasket onto the cyl­
inder.
Coat a new D-ring with oil and install it into the
groove of the intake manifold.
