Setting up for
Scanning Originals
Selecting the Image Processing Mode
[Line, Photo, Duo]
In order to make a quality master, select an appropriate mode depending on whether originals contain only text,
photo or both of them.
Press the
key to select the Image Pro-
cessing mode.
Each time you press the key, the indicators light in the
order;
(Line)→
(Photo)→
The table shows which types of originals are appropri-
ate for each mode.

Important!:
• With the Photo mode or Duo mode selected, you can
process images with a dot screening when printing.
(For EZ3XX only)

• With the Photo mode or Duo mode selected, you
cannot select "Auto" for the scanning level. Perform
manual adjustment.

• You cannot use the Image Processing mode and
Pencil mode together.
Note:
• Select the Pencil mode when printing from an original
written with a pencil.

• The Custom Setting mode allows you to change the
initial setting for the Image Processing mode and
Duo mode adjustment.

• The initial setting is "Line" and the Scanning Level
Adjustment is "AUTO".
If "Line" is changed to another mode and set back to "Line"
again, Scanning Level Adjustment is set to 3 (not AUTO).
