Turn off the printer and remove the power cord.
1.
Remove the top cover as explained in the earlier topic, "Cabinet
panels and covers" on page 8-4.
Caution
If a significant layer of dust has accumulated on the metal dust
cover, vacuum the dust off before removing the cover. This prevents
dust from falling into the ink reservoirs and onto the face of the
printhead.
2.
Remove the ink sensor wiring plastic grommet.
3.
Grasp and gently remove the ink dust cover.

For reassembly, note how small hooks on the metal dust cover latch onto holes
in the drum/transfix assembly frame.
