Adjusting for best print quality

1.
Ensure that the printer is in proper mechanical adjustment. If
necessary, perform the following adjustments:
a. "Y-axis belts tension adjustment" on page 9-9.
b. "Printhead-to-drum spacing adjustment" on page 9-11.
c. "Cap/wipe/purge assembly belt adjustments" on page 9-13.
2.
At the front panel, select 300 x 300 dots-per-inch mode.
3.
Print Service Test Print 2, "Weak jet." Examine the print; it shows
small 50% fills produced by each jet of the printhead. The fills are
numbered 1 through 88, in rows of color: cyan, magenta, yellow and
black.
4.
Compare the fill for each jet with the other fills produced by the same
color jets; they should all be the same. Note the number of any jet's fill
that is lighter (or darker) than the rest. (Usually a jet's fill is lighter
due to a weakened jet.)
5.
Start the PC diagnostics as described in the Section 6 topic "PC-based
diagnostics" on page 6-27.
6.
Scroll to the menu item Printhead and select the test Adjust
Normalization Level.
