RAM SIMM

The Phaser 340 Plus accepts either a 4 MByte and or a 16 Mbyte RAM SIMM.
The base Phaser 340 accepts either a 4 MByte and or a 16 Mbyte RAM SIMM but
only recognizes 4 Mbytes.
1.
Power down the printer. Leave the power cord plugged in to provide
a ground path for static discharges.

Loosen the two rear panel securing screws.
3.
Slide out the main board.
4.
Insert a memory module (4-Mbyte or 16-Mbyte) in connector J20 (a),
and tilt the module down until it locks in place (b).
When properly inserted, a tab on each end of the connector slips into a
hole on each end of the RAM SIMM. Also, a pawl on each end of the
connector latches around each end of the RAM SIMM to lock it in
place.

5.
Reinstall the main board into the printer.
6.
Reconnect the host interface cables. Turn on the printer and make a
test print to verify the memory installation.
