Airbag Handling and Storage
D o n o t d i s a s s e m b l e a n a i r b a g . l t h a s n o s e r v i c e a b l e
parts. Once an airbag has been deployed, it cannot be
repaired or reused.
For temporary storage of an airbag during service,
observe the following precautions.
. Store the removed airbag with the pad surface up.
N e v e r p u t a n y t h i n g o n t h e r e m o v e d a i r b a g .
To prevent damage to the airbag, keep it free from
a n y o i l , g r e a s e , d e t e r g e n t , o r w a t e t .
. Store the removed airbag on a secure, flat surface
away from any high heat source (exceeding 200'F/
93'C).
Never perform electrical inspections to the airbags,
such as measuring resistance,
Do not position yourself in front of the airbag during
removal, inspection. or replacement.
Refer to the scrapping procedures for disposal of a
damaged airbag.
