Locations are provisioned at the parent domain level of the system. You can
construct locations in a tree-like structure that represents the geography of the
service area. The location tree hierarchy makes for a more logical representation
of location and provides an intuitive structure for navigation (especially for users
using the MCS access clients).

Adding a location

The Add Location links visible under each location permit a new child location
(called a leaf) to be defined under that location (turning the original location into a
branch if it is not already a branch). Branch locations are locations that contain
other locations (for example, the location Richardson is a branch). Leaf locations
do not contain other locations (for example, the location NGD is a leaf). Use of
the Add Location link to define a multitiered structure results in the creation of the
location hierarchy. This tree-like structure makes it easier for users to select a
location when registering on an IP Phone, Multimedia PC Client, or Multimedia
Office Client.
