Incoming requests from the Gateway look up the calling party's public name
and number only if the calling party is known at the MCS. For example, a
Converged Desktop 2 user is known at the MCS.
If the incoming request traverses a Gateway route, the route can override the
calling name and number.
If the caller is not known at the MCS, the calling party information does not
change unless inter-domain provisioning forces the change.
If a system administrator provisions the public name for the originating domain or
subdomain, and the provision applies, the following changes occur:
The public name replaces the calling party's display name.
The calling party picture ID does not appear.
The caller's connected name display does not appear.
If a system administrator provisions the public number for the originating domain
or subdomain, and the provision applies, the following changes occur:
The domain public number replaces the calling party's number.
The caller's SIP User Agent does not appear.
The domain public number replaces the SIP Contact header.
The use of the private or public name and number is controlled as shown in the
following table.
