System Management

This section describes system management tasks and tools and includes the
following topics:

Password policy

Password length and complexity are controlled by password policy. A password
policy is associated with a domain so that defined controls are applied to the
password structures used by the subscribers of that domain.
These controls enable specification of subscriber password length and complexity
for each domain basis and are defined as part of a password policy. A system can
have many password policies defined. Two reserved password policies are
defined in the system:
Subscriber passwords are bound by the password policy associated with their
domain. This feature provides enforcement of the following:
"Password policy" on page 165
"Configuring time zones" on page 170
"Downloading the Bulk Provisioning Tool" on page 172
"Generating system log files" on page 173
Note: Full domain access is required to create policies.
Default — assigned to new domains as they are added to the system (if no
other password policy is specified). You can modify the default policy.
Existing — supports policy enforcement after a software upgrade to an
existing system. The Existing password policy is used to associate a loose
password policy to any domain subjected to a software upgrade. You cannot
modify the existing policy.
