22 Baseline hardware installation Hard disk redundancy MCS 5100 Release 4.0 uses RAID Level 1 to provide hard disk redundancy. RAID Level 1 is implemented with two mirrored disk drives and a hardware RAID controller. An identical copy of the data is maintained on each drive. If either drive fails, the remaining drive provides uninterrupted service while the failed drive is replaced.
Refer to the Customer-Specific Information data sheet for the host name, IP addresses, and subnet masks. The MCS 5100 Release 4.0Base Platform System Software Kit includes multiple copies of the same disks to allow simultaneous installation across multiple servers where required.
